World of Warcraft: New Dragonriding Drake Coming Soon

Speculations are that World of Warcraft is on the brink of introducing a novel species of Dragonriding drake to its existing range of Dragonriding mounts. This would not be astonishing upon initial glance, but the evidence suggests an unanticipated addition to the burgeoning group of Dragonriding mounts in World of Warcraft.

Embers of Neltharion, the first important patch for the World of Warcraft game Dragonflight, was recently released. This content update presented a new area, a furtherance of the plot of Dragonflight, as well as new personalization, glyphs, and capabilities for the Dragonriding mounts.

A potential leak for World of Warcraft could indicate the existence of a Legendary Weapon for Evokers. Details of this potential leak can be found here.

Recently, players were given a first glimpse of a possible Dragonriding customization that may arrive in World of Warcraft in the future. An item was found in the Public Test Realm for Dragonflight; this item is known as the Grotto Netherwing Drake. It is specified as an independent Dragonriding mount, which would make it the sixth of its kind. As of now, there are no visuals or other assets related to this mount beyond the item entry.

Although there is yet no firm evidence that Grotto Netherwing Drake will be added to the game, its associated Trader’s Tender cost may suggest that it could be included in World of Warcraft’s Trading Post feature in the future. Items with a cost of 999 Trader’s Tender usually signify a placeholder for a free Traveler’s Log reward, so it is conceivable that this mount might be obtained through such a process in the future.

It is thought to be odd to introduce a Dragonriding mount outside the expansion’s campaign, so some people speculate if the Grotto Netherwing Drake can be earned in Patch 10.2 or future Dragonflight patches. Recently, World of Warcraft had a developer broadcast that mentioned the possibility of another dragonflight being part of the narrative, which means there may be a chance of players unlocking the Netherwing Dragonflight of Outland as a Dragonriding drake.

Players can access the first part of the Embers of Neltharion story now, with additional chapters of the story coming alongside the Aberrus raid from Dragonflight on May 9. This will include Chapter 5 of the campaign, which rewards players with the Winding Slitherdrake, the first new Dragonriding mount since Dragonflight. If World of Warcraft carries on with its pattern of providing one new Dragonriding mount per patch, then Dragonflight Patch 10.2 may give players an opportunity to ride a high-definition version of the shark-like dragons from Burning Crusade with the Grotto Netherwing Drake.

The PC version of World of Warcraft has been released.
