Blizzard Entertainment Introducing Rabbit Mount to Celebrate Chinese New Year in World of Warcraft
As the Chinese New Year approaches, Blizzard has made available a new rabbit-themed mount for World of Warcraft. This Zodiac-inspired mount can be acquired from the Blizzard Shop either as an individual item or as a package along with a subscription to World of Warcraft.
To celebrate the Year of the Dog in 2018, Blizzard added the mount “Shu-zen, the Divine Sentinel” to World of Warcraft. The following year, the Year of the Tiger was commemorated with the mount “Wen Lo, the River’s Edge”. However, it was at the same time that Blizzard was getting ready to depart from the Chinese market. After a few years of difficulties, NetEase and Blizzard China were unable to come to a new agreement to keep World of Warcraft and Overwatch running in China. With the recent buyout of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft, it is unknown what consequences the exit from China will have on the company.
The “Jade, Bright Foreseer” rabbit mount can be obtained for $25 USD on the Blizzard Shop, which is available for all characters related to the account that bought the mount or was gifted it. However, those playing World of Warcraft may purchase a six-month subscription that provides the mount at no extra cost; this plan is offered for $77.94 USD or $12.99 per month. Individuals already subscribed to the 12-month plan will be automatically rewarded with the mount, although it is only available in Dragonflight. As a substitute, Wrath of the Lich King Classic players that subscribe to the six-month plan will receive the Hoplet pet.
Blizzard has characterized Jade, Bright Foreseer as Pandaria’s “hoppy rabbit spirit,” with adornments on its head and paws. The Mists of Pandaria expansion, released in 2012, drew heavily from Asian and Chinese art motifs. Consequently, many World of Warcraft gamers have discussed how both Dragonflight and Mists of Pandaria transported players to new, unexplored territories.
Just one week before the release of World of Warcraft Patch 10.0.5, Jade, Bright Foreseer arrived. Players will have a wide range of activities to embark on in Azeroth come the new year due to the newly added features such as the trading post and the ability to transmogrify gray and white quality items with the patch.
The PC version of World of Warcraft is ready for gamers.
