A Highly Regarded Witcher 3 Mod Will Be Available for Cyberpunk 2077
The maker of the highly successful Witcher 3 HD Reworked mod has shared that they are now developing an HD Reworked mod for Cyberpunk 2077. This mod is intended to upgrade the lower quality textures of the game while still preserving CD Projekt RED’s intended design.
The Witcher series and Cyberpunk 2077 from CD Projekt RED have been the subject of a plethora of modding efforts over the years. Vast open-world titles give modders the chance to introduce fresh weapons, characters, abilities, and even mechanics, or to just make the visuals more robust. As these games often have a few bugs, some mods have been created to serve as unofficial community patches.
With over 5,500 mods available on the Nexus Mods page for The Witcher 3, the most popular one is the HD Reworked Project, which has been downloaded a whopping 5.3 million times. This mod is 9 GB and boosts the textures of the game, mainly the lower-detail ones that didn’t get enough attention from the developers. It really makes a big difference when viewing comparison shots. Halk Hogan, the maker of the The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project, has stated they will also be providing a similar enhancement to CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077.
The trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 mod showcases some of its early work, with a major focus on enhancing the textures of the environment. Compared to the earlier low-resolution pavement textures, the bumps and cracks in the roads now have increased detail. Moreover, the graffiti in Night City looks much sharper and is more easily legible. Furthermore, the contrast of the shadows on the rocks and dirt has been improved, and the upgraded textures with the game’s lighting make the setting more immersive.
With the huge size of Cyberpunk 2077, Halk Hogan has a lot of work to do when aiming to enhance the graphics. An announcement of the mod’s launch date should be made shortly. Simultaneously, they are also working on the HD Reworked Project for the next-gen version of The Witcher 3 ‘s.
