Skyrim Mod Changes the Rules for Fast Travelling

Skyrim lovers who think they might be relying too much on fast travel can install a mod to the game to put in certain constraints to the feature. This way, the Dragonborn can take a break and appreciate the digital roses. With its captivating high fantasy setting and huge open world to explore, not to mention a chance to take on ancient dragons, TES5 is a classic and even recommended for those new to role-playing games, as seen in this article.

One of the aspects that makes the game so accessible is the fast travel option that allows players to quickly switch between places they have already visited. Although fast travel is crucial in most open-world titles, some people feel that it can interrupt the more immersive aspects of role-playing. Thus, some gamers opt not to utilize it; however, for those who cannot resist and do not want to switch to Survival Mode, there is a way to reduce the urge.

It is now possible for Skyrim fans to hire the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as their followers, thanks to a new mod.

DigitalApple, a user of Nexus Mods, has released a mod for Skyrim called “Regional Fast Travel” that changes the way the feature operates. According to the description, one can be prevented from fast travelling to a location if it is in a different region, not a “habitation or dwelling,” or has not been specified as a “location.” Moreover, there are options that can be enabled to restrict fast travel to various guilds and factions, such as not being able to go to the College of Winterhold until the completion of the “First Lessons” quest.

The features in Skyrim can be seen to be comparable to those of Morrowind, the third title in the Bethesda franchise. It also had restrictions on fast travel, such as the necessity of using transportation from or to settlements, as horses were not an option. Fortunately, due to Morrowind being one of the smallest Elder Scrolls games as far as map size is concerned, this was not as daunting as in other entries in the series.

DigitalApple is still showing a great deal of affection for TES5 and this is evidenced by the numerous attempts made by modders to enhance the vanilla version of Skyrim. These mods have given the expansive RPG title even more content, resulting in its continued success.

The latest version of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim – the Anniversary Edition – is available for purchase on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
