Hotfix Issued for Apex Legends Team Deathmatch Following Early Departures

Respawn Entertainment has issued a hotfix for Apex Legends’ Team Deathmatch game mode in response to the detection of an early leavers problem. Even though the launch of Season 16 was expected to be highlighted by the release of Team Deathmatch, the presence of this issue has caused a dissatisfying experience for many users of Apex Legends.

Since the debut of the LTM in Apex Legends, numerous players have voiced their discontent with the mode on social media. On a Reddit post by Nobat211, they reported having experienced several games where the competitors on their team would quit when they began losing. This post has acquired more than 6K upvotes, demonstrating the wide reach of the issue. Leaving early spoils the fun for many Apex Legends players, since it causes an uneven balance and hampers the supposed rapid-fire nature of the LTM. Making matters worse, players noticed that even if all players on one team left, the match would persist.

Respawn Entertainment has acted on fan feedback and released an update to enhance Team Deathmatch in Apex Legends. The developer stated that the games of the LTM seemed to go on for too long, so they have been cut down to just one round instead of the original three. Also, the amount of kills needed to win the now single-round mode has been increased from 30 to 50. It is worth noting that the UI will not accurately show the reduction in rounds until a future patch.

It will be intriguing to observe the repercussions of this alteration in Team Deathmatch. Although the shorter duration could reduce the number of participants departing, this may not be adequate. Happily, Respawn has reported that there will be more modifications to the game mode in the future. According to the tweet from the developer, some future quality-of-life enhancements include concluding matches if all players from a particular team exit and introducing a penalty for early departure, akin to what is already implemented in the Control LTM for Apex Legends.

The marketing for Season 16 of Apex Legends had suggested that the introduction of Team Deathmatch would be a major highlight, especially since no new Legend was included in the update. Unfortunately, the issues with early leavers have been a source of frustration for gamers that have been hoping for this mode for a long period. It is essential that Respawn Entertainment listens to the feedback from the community and adjusts Team Deathmatch accordingly to realize everyone’s expectations.

Apex Legends is currently accessible on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
