The fourth installment of the Resident Evil franchise, Resident Evil 4, is one of the most beloved games in the series. On Metacritic, it currently holds the highest ratings with a critic score of 96 and a user score of 9.2. This prompted ardent fans of the game to call for a remake for newer systems. Capcom responded at their annual Resident Evil showcase in October 2022 by revealing that a remake of Resident Evil 4 is in development and will be released on March 24, 2023.

The upcoming Resident Evil 4 remake is generating a lot of hype, with its reveal trailers leaving a positive impression on some fans of the original game. Though the visuals of the game have been clearly showcased, there is still a bit of apprehension from the fanbase regarding the title’s overall quality. While the trailers have displayed the improved graphics and models, some followers of the franchise are still concerned about other aspects of the game.

A few members of the fanbase are in anticipation of the upcoming Resident Evil 4 remake; however, they are also stressing that Capcom must avoid some of the irritations and flaws that were present in the original game. One of these issues is the abundance of ammo, which was not as rare as some fans believe it should have been. Additionally, the number of quick-time events should be lowered.

The Resident Evil franchise has been brought back to its former glory thanks to the genre-changing release of Resident Evil 7 and remaking the beloved classics. However, after the launch of the Resident Evil 4 remake, people are left to speculate what the future of the series holds. Capcom has achieved great success with this franchise, and many of the popular titles have already been remastered, leaving fans to wonder where the franchise is going, as the Ethan Winters storyline is essentially done.

Resident Evil 4 is set for release on March 24 for computer, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
