2nd Octopath Traveler Preview Centers on Ochette and Castti
Square Enix released the final character trailer for Octopath Traveler 2 , centering on Ochette and Castti. The Japanese publisher has been releasing individual hero introductions for the upcoming JRPG since last October, previously revealing Throne and Temenos. Additionally, they have highlighted four other characters.
In September 2022, Octopath Traveler 2 was declared, just after the fourth anniversary of its predecessor. The initial installment in the series was met with widespread approval, and even won numerous awards globally. Not only this, but several experienced players acclaimed its difficult boss battles and the “HD2D” art style, for which Square Enix even secured a trademark.
The newly-released gameplay trailer reveals Ochette and Castti as the Hunter and Apothecary taking the place of H’aanit and Alfyn from Octopath Traveler. Spanning around four and a half minutes, the video gives details about their abilities and traits, such as Ochette’s love for meat and Castti’s memory loss. During combat, Castti will be able to use group healing and concocting of poisons, while Ochette will be best employed for capturing or getting rid of beast-like foes.
The fresh Octopath Traveler 2 preview shows that Ochette can either make friends with NPCs or start a fight with them, depending on whether the player decides to give them food or unleash a caught creature. Castti has taken up Alfyn’s knack for investigation and can also put NPCs to sleep with the help of medicines.
The recently released trailer for Octopath Traveler 2 _revealed that each hero’s adventure will feature a distinct narrative structure. Ochette’s tale, for instance, could differ depending on which companion she takes on her quest. On the other hand, the merchant Partitio will always have the option to wander away from his next mission in pursuit of business opportunities. These multiple paths should add to the replay value of _Octopath Traveler 2, which was a weak point of the original.
Be that as it may, it is yet to be observed what those changes will do to the tempo of the upcoming JRPG. Numerous commentators concur that Octopath Traveler 2 should upgrade its narrative structure, claiming that the first game seemed somewhat disorganized in some places.
Octopath Traveler 2 will be released on February 24, 2023, and will be available to purchase on PC, PS4, PS5, and Switch.
