New Game from Genshin Impact Dev Tops Charts Before Release
The highly anticipated mobile game Honkai: Star Rail from Hoyoverse, the developer of Genshin Impact, has already achieved chart-topping success before its official launch this week. This spinoff was first revealed in late 2020 and has undergone several beta tests since then. Featuring a departure from the action-oriented gameplay of the developer’s other games, Honkai Impact 3rd, this new game offers turn-based combat and incorporates characters from previous Hoyoverse titles. As a testament to the game’s popularity, it has already captured the attention of fans on the App Store.
HoYoverse is anticipating a similar level of success with their new title, Honkai: Star Rail, as it has already achieved millions of pre-registrations. After the launch of Genshin Impact at the end of 2020, it quickly became a hit with streamers and content creators, as well as with the support of the company’s own advertising. The RPG has been generating millions in revenue with each new character introduction, with the Chinese iOS market alone bringing in tens of millions. Now, fans are eagerly awaiting the start of the next journey with Honkai: Star Rail already topping the charts.

HoYoverse made an announcement on the official Honkai: Star Rail Twitter account, highlighting the pre-launch enthusiasm of the developer’s fanbase. According to HoYoverse, Honkai: Star Rail is already leading the “Free Apps” category on Apple’s App Store in multiple regions, despite the fact that it is still not playable. As it stands, the game will become available on April 26th at 10:00 AM UTC+8; however, players can already download the game and do the pre-installation beforehand.
The launch of Honkai: Star Rail has stirred up a great deal of enthusiasm among the fans, who eagerly surpassed the game’s pre-registration goals in no time. Star Rail managed to reach over 10 million pre-registrations in just ten days, outshining Genshin Impact, which took forty days to reach the same amount.
This year, fans of HoYoverse have a lot to anticipate, such as the launch of the fifth region of Genshin Impact, Fontaine, and the new RPG title, Zenless Zone Zero. The release of Honkai: Star Rail has been welcomed with the same enthusiasm as Genshin Impact, furthering the success of HoYoverse.
Honkai: Star Rail is scheduled to arrive on April 26th and will be available on both PC and mobile platforms. Versions for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 are currently in the works.
