It’s been a three-month-long Season 1 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Warzone 2, but Activision and its studios have provided regular updates to the game. There was even a mid-season refresh, which came with Season 1 Reloaded, adding the Shipment map, Atomgrad Episode 1 RAID, and several quality-of-life enhancements to both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. However, the anticipation for Season 2 and the content it will bring has been building for some time.
For Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Treyarch has implemented a new Ranked mode for Multiplayer that utilizes skill-based matchmaking and has seven Skill Divisions. Season 2 has also unveiled four new maps the Dome and Valderas Museum core maps, the Zaya Observatory and Al Malik International battle maps. Additionally, players can look forward to the Infected, Gun Game, and Grind game modes at launch, with more modes being added throughout the season.
The new content in Warzone 2 is abundant, with the well-known Resurgence Mode returning in a fresh map called Ashika Island. The Japanese-inspired map is larger than prior small maps from the game, and it is full of different methods to make money, such as retrieving dog tags from defeated teammates or completing the Search and Seizure contract. Additionally, the Ashika Island map features a new Data Heist public event.
For Season 2 of DMZ, a whole new Exclusion Zone will be established on Ashika Island, allowing for a brand new start for the game and its first full progression reset. Additionally, a faction known as Crown has been included, spawn points on Al Mazrah have been shifted, and the difficulty of AI and missions have been significantly adjusted.
The second installment of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Warzone 2 has been launched and many changes have been made. Fans of the game who have already experienced the full version of the two titles may want to take a look at Season 2 to see what’s new. The season has now officially started.
