Pre-Loading for Some Players of Hogwarts Legacy Has Started

Hogwarts Legacy can be pre-loaded on an Xbox Series X ahead of its release date in a few weeks. This is an exceptional convenience, as digital game purchases and large file sizes are now common. Pre-loading helps players have access to pre-ordered titles such as Hogwarts Legacy at launch without waiting. It is not a frequent occurrence for games to allow such early pre-loading.

It is uncertain why pre-loading for Hogwarts Legacy began so far in advance. Additionally, no explanation has been given as to why the Xbox Series X version appears to be the only one that fans can pre-load right now. However, hopefully those playing on PC and PS5 won’t have to wait too long to start the download. Although not confirmed, it is feasible that the early pre-loading may be due to the game’s early access option. People who pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition can have 72 hours of early access to the game, allowing them to start playing on February 7 instead of February 10. This could be why the pre-loading has started early to get ready for the rush of gamers who will be entering the game prior to its launch, but that is only a guess at this moment.

Hogwarts Legacy Has Started

No matter what, Hogwarts Legacy aficionados will be pleased to have the opportunity to pre-load the title, which is reported to be around 77 GB in size. While it’s not the most expansive file size seen in recent times, it’s still quite substantial and will take a while to download for gamers with slower Internet connections. Knowing that Hogwarts Legacy is a full-scale open world game that includes Hogwarts castle, the grounds, Hogsmeade, and realistic graphics, it’s understandable why the game’s file size is so large.

Though yet to be verified, reports have suggested that completing Hogwarts Legacy may take around 35 hours, which is a reasonable amount of time for a game of this kind and doesn’t include the extra content the game offers. If the leaks are accurate, it is likely that players of Hogwarts Legacy could take up to 70 hours to get 100% completion.

It will be intriguing to observe how the material is adjusted for the Nintendo Switch release. There is a Hogwarts Legacy port set to launch in July, but the file size will have to be reduced if the game is to be stored on a Switch cartridge. It is probable that the diminished graphics of the Switch edition will be sufficient to make sure the game can be stored on a Switch cartridge, but more information about this point is likely to emerge closer to the release date of that version.

Hogwarts Legacy will be released on February 10th for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X, with the PS4 and Xbox One versions arriving on April 4th. Lastly, the Switch version will be available on July 25th.
