Resolving the Challenging Mooncalf Quest in Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy players should be pleased to hear that Avalanche Software is hard at work to eliminate bugs in the game, with their next priority being the Take the Biscuit side quest. This mission has proven quite popular, and now the developers are striving to make sure it runs as smoothly as possible.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Legacy was released to much fanfare on February 10th, allowing many gamers to explore the beloved wizarding world. However, the freshly-released game had a rather large catalog of bugs and glitches, from cosmetics to technical errors that caused the game to crash to issues blocking further progress. Recently, Avalanche Software provided a patch to address some of these issues, although they are still working on resolving the remaining issues.

Wood, the community manager of Avalanche Software, has taken to Twitter to guarantee that gamers can expect the glitch concerning Biscuit the Mooncalf to be taken care of in a subsequent patch. Additionally, he advises those who have not completed the Take the Biscuit quest to not unlock the Mooncalf cage before picking up the quest.

If you’re playing Hogwarts Legacy, then you can embark on the Take the Biscuit side quest by finding the goblin Garnuff, who is concealed under a bridge in Hogsmeade. After discovering that Garnuff’s pet, Biscuit the Mooncalf, has been taken by poachers, you can accept the task of rescuing it. After eliminating the poachers, you’ll then need to cast Alohomora to liberate the Mooncalf – and that’s when the game’s bug can kick in. While some players have managed to overcome this by simply restarting the game, others have not been so fortunate.

With the increasing complexity of video games, it becomes ever more difficult to identify and address all the issues before the game’s launch. Even with extensive testing, developers and testers may struggle to find and repair every bug. Thus, with regular Hogwarts Legacy updates, it is expected that the majority of the game’s bugs will be resolved, allowing gamers to fully immerse themselves in the magical world.

Hogwarts Legacy can now be experienced on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with its availability on PS4 and Xbox One to come on April 4, and later on Nintendo Switch on July 25.
