Genshin Impact NPC Leaves Liyue for Fontaine: A New Adventure

Once a player completes their daily commission quest, an NPC in Genshin Impact departs the Liyue region to Fontaine. This quest appears to be a sneak peek of the upcoming region that is anticipated to be released in the Genshin Impact 4.0 version.

Players of Genshin Impact can receive a distinct daily commission from the Adventurer’s Guild, and upon its completion, they are usually rewarded with Primogems and other common materials. After the daily reset, the next quest may be unlocked so they can move forward and get special achievements. Recent Genshin Impact updates may add the following chapter of a certain daily commission mission, as a related NPC is departing from Liyue to Fontaine.

NoobFromPH, a Genshin Impact player, recently did the daily commission quest called “The Day the Sword Departs”. This demonstrates NPC Sun Yu’s dilemma of whether to stay in Liyue and bring back Xingqiu’s Guhua clan or move to Fontaine. A Fontaine merchant advised Sun Yu to take a break from Liyue and explore the world. After aiding Sun Yu with his journey, the Traveler stated they would visit him in Fontaine soon.

The Genshin Impact version 3.3 update included the Day the Sword Departs quest, but it can be tricky to find due to its random nature. After completing the quest, the player earns the “To Walk the Horizon…?” achievement and Sun Yu leaves Liyue. His companion, Little Que’er, reflects on her emotions and the decisions of the Guhua clan, ultimately choosing to remain in Liyue instead of chasing after Sun Yu in Fontaine.

Sun Yu’s journey is a subtle hint that the Fontaine region will be featured in Genshin Impact, and with a new daily mission, players can help him settle in.
