Fortnite Rumor: New Star Wars Skin Coming Soon

Speculation is abounding about a possible Star Wars collaboration skin for Fortnite, which has been regularly collaborating with the Disney franchise since 2019. Various cosmetics related to the beloved franchise have been added to the game, and rumors of another one joining the bunch have been circulating.

The crossovers between Star Wars and Fortnite are nothing new, with the battle royale game featuring over a dozen characters from the popular franchise. People have already seen Mandalorian, Darth Vader, and Darth Maul in past battle passes, and can find characters like Kylo Ren, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Stormtrooper in the Item Shop. Furthermore, gamers can also purchase This is the Way emotes and the Lil’ Podracer. More Star Wars goodies continue to be rumored for the Item Shop.

The Twitter page of Fortnite has gained 15,700 likes from a post that reads “Roger, Roger,” which is believed to be a Star Wars allusion as the battle royale is currently involved in its newest collaboration with the Disney property. According to Fortnite leaker FitzyLeakz and some other sources, the Fortnite tweet might be indicating a future droid skin, and the most possible droid is the B1 battle droid. This Star Wars machine character is a likely reference due to the fact that it utters the same phrase that was posted by the Fortnite Twitter account multiple times in the series’ movies and shows.

The latest addition of Anakin Skywalker, Darth Maul, Padme Amidala and more to Fortnite with the recent Star Wars crossover has sparked speculation that further content is in store. Rumors point to the B1 battle droid being the character that the Fortnite Twitter account is referring to, though it is yet unclear. Previous Star Wars characters have been integrated into the game in various ways, including through battle passes, progress tiers, the Item Shop and freebie in-game quests, so the rumored skin could be presented through one of these or an entirely new concept.

The post from Fortnite could be alluding to either the B1 battle droid from Star Wars or to a preexisting military character, such as Munitions Major or Plastic Patroller. As it is yet to be determined when the collaboration between Fortnite and Star Wars will take place, fans may have to wait a while to get their hands on the skin if the rumors are accurate.

The popular game Fortnite can be played on Mac, Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S platforms.
