Rumors of a First-Person Option Coming to Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2
Rumors are circulating that the popular battle royale game, Fortnite, will be receiving its long-awaited first-person mode when Chapter 4 Season 2 begins. Until this point, Epic Games has never officially supported first-person, instead concentrating on the third-person perspective due to the importance of construction-based gameplay. But with the introduction of the No Build mode, it appears that Epic is now willing to provide a real opportunity for first-person play.
At the start of 2018, Epic Games made it clear that they had no intention of adding a first-person view to Fortnite, citing that it did not fit the “design style” of the game. Despite this, they did indicate that they were open to revisiting the idea in the future. Evidence of a first-person mode being added was discovered at the end of January, leading to much anticipation among players. After a month, some are concerned that Epic Games has decided against introducing this mode.
The latest news from leakers suggests that Epic Games is about to launch a first-person mode for Fortnite. HYPEX and ShiinaBR, two prominent leakers on Twitter, have hinted that the mode could arrive during Season 2 of Chapter 4, which is estimated to begin on March 10.
The specifics of a first-person mode have yet to be determined. HYPEX has indicated on Twitter that first-person will probably be an optional setting, as opposed to a completely different game mode. This is probably due to the imbalanced nature of having both third-person and first-person play available at the same time.
From the start, Fortnite wasn’t the only battle royale title to try out first-person after releasing with third-person gameplay. PUBG only had custom games that featured first-person play when it first launched. Due to the widespread interest in the mode, an official first-person PUBG game mode was soon added. Both third-person and first-person modes have been maintained in PUBG since then, and both have been prosperous and well-liked.
The likelihood of first-person mode becoming the primary mode for Fortnite is not high. Third-person gameplay is more appropriate for casual gaming and is easier to play, whereas first-person is more complex and competitive. Fans of Fortnite have been requesting it for some time, but it is uncertain if Epic Games will make it permanent. According to some reports, the company may release an announcement regarding the subject in the upcoming days.
Fortnite is accessible for play on a variety of platforms, such as PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and smartphones.
