Item Sets Will Not Be Available At The Release Of Diablo 4

The renowned Diablo series will not have item sets incorporated into Diablo 4 at launch, Blizzard Entertainment has revealed. Fans of Diablo 2 can recall the thrill of discovering their first set item, which could have come from a boss or a chest, with a flash of green text. Deckard Cain then confirmed that it was a rare set item, such as Sigon, Berserker, or Cleglaw. This led to the hunt for the rest.

The idea of having an “ultimate set” to complete for each class in Diablo 2 was a great way to construct an effective build for the endgame. This notion was carried on and taken to the next level in Diablo 3, where players could acquire multiple sets per class to give their character more power. Though it may appear obvious that set items should be included in Diablo 4, the situation is more intricate than it initially seems.

At a roundtable discussion with Diablo 4 Game Director Joe Shely, it was declared that set items will not be included in the game’s June launch. Shely rationalized that they wanted to get the set items right, similarly to how Diablo 3 changed up the way they fit into the endgame. Joe Shely desires that Diablo 4 ‘s set items will do the same.

This current news may be a letdown for Diablo gamers but it is also an opportunity to look at the new Diablo 4 Codex of Power concept. This legendary aspect gear and build customisation allows players to make their own unique builds which, if it is to succeed in Diablo 4, should be without the help of set items.

It is anticipated that gamers will soon have the opportunity to sample the new Diablo 4 system when the open beta is released in the coming months. Although some had hoped to get their hands on the game before the projected timeline, it is predicted that Blizzard Entertainment will provide concrete details regarding the next stage of beta testing at the IGN Fan Fest 2023 event on February 17.

Diablo 4 will be available on June 6 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
