Diablo 4 Battle Pass: Free vs Premium Rewards and Prices
The recently released Diablo 4 has provided fans with a glimpse of the differences between the free and premium versions of the Battle Pass. Comparing these two versions of the rewards system gives players an idea of what they can expect from the optional Battle Pass of the highly-anticipated action RPG.
In 2020, Diablo 4 announced their intention to incorporate a Battle Pass system into their latest installment of the dark ARPG series. They assured that this would not involve any pay-to-win microtransactions, however, some gamers were still unsure due to the outcry that accompanied Diablo Immortal.
It has been revealed how long it will take to finish the Battle Passes in Diablo 4. See here for more information.
Diablo 4 has followed through with its promise for a cosmetic-only Premium Battle Pass. Out of the 90 tiers, 27 are completely free for all players. These tiers include free cosmetics and grant access to Smoldering Ash, a currency used to purchase Season Blessings. All players receive this power, with no additional costs, just for playing the game. The first season of Diablo 4 is expected to launch in the middle-to-end of July, and players can make progress on the Battle Pass by gaining Favor through the Season Journey, as well as leveling up and playing the game.
The remaining 63 tiers of the Battle Pass are only for looks. Every Diablo 4 Premium Battle Pass will have two complete sets of attire for all classes – items that can be blended and matched with other transmogs – as well as exclusive mounts and steed decor. Players will also get premium currency to use at the cash shop to buy more cosmetics. The cost of the Premium Battle Pass for Diablo 4 is $10.
For an additional $25, gamers will be able to purchase the Accelerated Battle Pass which features 20 complimentary tier skips and a unique cosmetic. However, these tier skips will not give players a faster way to obtain the Smoldering Ash from the free Battle Pass due to the level-lock restriction.
Blizzard has kept its promise that the Diablo 4 Battle Pass will not be a pay-to-win system, but instead offers optional cosmetics for players wanting to fulfill a certain “fantasy” with their character. Even if players do not purchase the Premium Battle Pass, the game’s transmog system still offers hundreds of cosmetic options, making it easy to create a character look that fits the player’s desired character perfectly.
The highly anticipated Diablo 4 will be released on June 6, available for a range of platforms, including PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
