Call of Duty: Warzone Season 2 Unveils DMZ Missions and a Renewed Map

Infinity Ward has just released the launch trailer for Season 2 of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, which was put off for a few weeks. This update brings a great deal of new content, including the highly anticipated Ashika Island Warzone map. This map has been likened to Rebirth Island due to its smaller size.

Warzone 2 is introducing several modifications to its core gameplay. The Battle Royale has shared some of the changes that’ll be coming to the Warzone, such as streamlining the vest system and including only 3 plate versions. The looting and backpack system has also been simplified, with all players having the same size backpack and loot dropping on the ground. To give players a preview of the new content, Infinity Ward has released the Season 2 launch trailer.

The Call of Duty: Warzone 2 preview reveals the comeback of Resurgence on Ashika Island. Fans are pleased with the faster speed of the mode, as it allows respawning if one member of the squad is still alive. Additionally, the trailer confirms the addition of ranked multiplayer, a request many gamers have had for a while. To finish, the Gulag will be reverting to its classic 1v1 format, getting rid of the 2v2 feature that came with the new game.

Warzone 2 Season 2 New Content

Though the response to the trailer has been mixed, Infinity Ward has still devoted some attention to the multiplayer experience in Season 2. They are introducing Dome as a 6v6 map in addition to Al-Malik International as a Battle Map. Furthermore, two new game modes are being added, Gun Game and Infected, though it appears that is the majority of the multiplayer content that the update is providing.

The third update from Infinity Ward focused on the popular DMZ mode, however, the community is divided on the changes. As previously announced, Season 2 is completely revamping DMZ mode, erasing all progress as if it never happened. This reset is to allow for a new map, balancing, enemies, and missions to be added, each with new rewards.

The sequel to Call of Duty: Warzone is now ready to be played on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
