Shipment 24/7 Revived by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Playlist Update

The fan outcry over the absence of the classic Shipment 24/7 mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been heard, and in response, a new playlist update has brought it back. The iconic Shipment map was initially added to the game in 2022 for the holiday season, and now players can relish in its return as the game moves into its second season.

The map of Shipment underwent an overhaul for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, transforming it into an even more chaotic battleground than it had been previously. Cargo containers are situated throughout the map, which restricts vision and creates a central area of regular firefights. Despite the redesign, however, Shipment was still riddled with bugs and glitches in Modern Warfare 2. At one point, players were spawned inside a cargo container which enabled the opposing team to trap them for the duration of the match. This provoked further fury when Infinity Ward removed Shipment 24/7 from the playlist.

The official Twitter account of Infinity Ward recently posted about the addition of Shipment 24/7 back into Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer playlist. Along with it, Tier 1 Shipment is now available and features hardcore rules like no HUD, less health, and no hit markers. Those that appreciate close-quarters combat can enjoy this mode in Modern Warfare 2 for the foreseeable future.

On January 11, Infinity Ward switched out the Shipment 24/7 mode in Modern Warfare 2 with Shoot House 24/7. This decision sparked a wave of fury among the fans as Shipment had become a very popular map once again. This new mode stayed around for about a week before Shipment 24/7 came back. When it did, the Modern Warfare 2 community was filled with enthusiasm, and many players requested for it to become a regular part of the playlist.

The spawn mechanics and bugs in Modern Warfare 2 have been met with criticism from players, yet Shipment has still become a beloved map for the community. This map offers an enjoyable, fast-paced environment that is less focused on strategy and map organization. Consequently, plenty of Modern Warfare 2 fans play Shipment around the clock, utilizing the abundant weapons in the game to level up.

It will be fascinating to find out if Infinity Ward preserves the welfare of its Modern Warfare 2 player base and expands its multiplayer modes. Hopefully, positive reactions from the community can aid the success of Modern Warfare 2 Season 2.

The first-person shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is now available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
