Release Date of Atelier Marie Remake Confirmed
Koei Tecmo has set the release date for the much-anticipated remake of Atelier Marie: The Alchemist of Salburg and it will be available on July 13. This news came shortly after the February Nintendo Direct, where Gust and Koei Tecmo first unveiled their plans to revive the classic alchemy RPG. The remake will boast improved visuals and illustrations, as well as new features that weren’t present in the original release from 1997. As of now, fans have a better idea of when they can get their hands on the franchise’s first game.
Despite its niche status, Atelier has seen quite a bit of success in recent years. The Atelier Ryza trilogy has been the franchise’s most successful in the past 25 years. As a result, the developer is remastering some older titles, like Atelier Sophie DX, which is launching in 2021, and Atelier Sophie 2 which is scheduled for 2022. This summer, the franchise will go back to its roots with the return of the original game.
On Monday morning, Koei Tecmo revealed the release date of Atelier Marie: The Alchemist of Salburg Remake through a new Japanese trailer. The game will launch on July 13th for PC, PlayStation consoles, and Switch. The trailer showed off the upgraded graphics and art for the remake, including the vibrant town of Salzburg and its inhabitants. It also featured some of the pre-order bonuses for the Japanese version of the game, such as a soundtrack CD and art book.
The upcoming remake of Atelier Marie: The Alchemist of Salburg is bringing a slew of new features to the 1997 RPG. The trailer revealed a reworked gathering system akin to Atelier Ryza, as well as a new “Unlimited” mode for those preferring a more relaxed playstyle. Additionally, the remake will include an expanded tutorial for those unfamiliar with the Atelier series. Players who are new to the Atelier franchise can also look forward to new events and character interactions.
As part of its 25th-anniversary festivities, multiple video games have been released, one of which is the remake of Atelier Marie: The Alchemist of Salburg. Last year, Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream was released, seven years after its original version. Next month, Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End and the Secret Key will be released and will conclude the Ryza chapter of the franchise. The upcoming Atelier Marie remake will bring fans back to the beginnings of the franchise.
