Postponement of Launch Date for Amnesia: The Bunker
Frictional Games, a developer, has revealed that the launch date for the upcoming survival-horror title Amnesia: The Bunker has been delayed to the 16th of May. Amnesia: The Bunker was declared to horror enthusiasts in late 2020 for a March 2023 release, however, it appears horror-survival aficionados will have to wait a bit longer than anticipated to experience the game.
Frictional Games’ Amnesia horror series continues with Amnesia: The Bunker. While the game will stay true to what the franchise is recognized for–first-person exploration and puzzle solving–Amnesia: The Bunker is introducing some major changes. Players can anticipate more open-world aspects and an opportunity to battle enemies, which is a distinct shift from older Amnesia games.
Frictional Games have decided to push back the launch date of Amnesia: The Bunker to May 16th, due to a series of illnesses affecting the team’s productivity. The studio wants to make sure that the new game lives up to the standards set by its predecessors, and the extra time will allow them to do that without having to rush the completion of the project.
Unfortunately, the recent announcement of Amnesia: The Bunker’s release date being pushed back has been a disappointment for some survival-horror fans. The postponement of the launch of The Day Before has meant March 2023 will not be as exciting for horror aficionados as it was expected to be. However, Resident Evil 4 remake will still be released that month, providing some solace. On the plus side, the pushback of Amnesia: The Bunker’s launch should give developers more time to ensure the game is of a high quality when it eventually debuts.
Game trailers for Amnesia: The Bunker have been remarkable, exhibiting the game’s physics-based challenges and the extent of liberty players will have to investigate the game world. Even though the game will give players the choice to retaliate against the monsters, it is still set to be fairly frightening and not a full-blown action game, so it will be intriguing to see how it strikes the ideal balance between these components.
